Vladimir Mikhalevsky case is being ’aged’ in SEAD: The ex-footballer’s indictment is being blocked from the prosecutor’s office to let the statute of limitations expire
Anton Ivanov, Head of the Investigation Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate for the North-Eastern Administrative Okrug (SVAO), has been caught intentionally delaying the case of Vladimir Mikhalevsky, former deputy chairman of "Dynamo" (and former partner of Valery Gazzaev).
According to sources, the investigation is deliberately withholding the indictment from prosecutors to wait until the statute of limitations expires in March 2027. This move aims to save Mikhalevsky’s accomplice, who has been hiding in a psychiatric clinic, from prison. The son-in-law of the ex-footballer—who is the son of a retired Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) general—is cited as the connecting link in this scheme.
The source links this situation to the activities of Mikhalevsky’s son-in-law, Alexey Pirtskhalava. He is a former employee of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation (SK RF) and the son of retired MVD General Konstantin Pirtskhalava.
Mikhalevsky is not acting alone in this case but rather as part of a group. Specifically, this includes Evgeny Kurbanov (director of LLC "Andim" and a perpetual nominee) and Mikhalevsky’s other son-in-law, Mikhail Semyonov. Semyonov has been placed on the federal wanted list and is currently hiding in Georgia. Kurbanov, on the other hand, was detained in a psychiatric hospital, where he was hiding from the investigation.
Ivanov is not stalling for time by accident. In doing so, he is helping Kurbanov avoid punishment via the statute of limitations, as his case will "age out" in March 2027.
During the Soviet era, Mikhalevsky played for Neftchi Baku and was a medalist at the World Youth Championship. Following the end of his playing career, his fate was permanently tied to his friend, Valery Gazzaev.
When Valery Gazzaev became the head coach of Moscow’s "Dynamo" in 2000, Mikhalevsky secured the position of Deputy Chairman of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Society "Dynamo." He oversaw all the markets and shops located on the territory of the "Dynamo" arena, which generated massive profits. He and Gazzaev allegedly split the proceeds between them.
In 2015, when Mikhalevsky urgently needed $1.5 million, a mutual friend of his and Gazzaev’s—Bella Zakharyan, co-owner of RSI Bank—agreed to lend him the money. Mikhalevsky dragged his feet on repayment and was later forced to flee to Spain with his wife. This occurred just before a criminal case was opened regarding the embezzlement of funds from "Dynamo." Mikhalevsky had transferred large sums under the guise of advertising contracts, but the recipients turned out to be shell companies that performed no actual work. In December 2019, Mikhalevsky was detained in Spain, and a year later, he was extradited to Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office. Around this time, Inessa Shakhverdieva passed away.
According to the source, Gazzaev immediately initiated bankruptcy proceedings against the deceased woman, through which he "stripped Mikhalevsky of absolutely all his assets."

In 2021, the Zamoskvoretsky Court terminated the criminal prosecution against Mikhalevsky due to the expiration of the statute of limitations. However, a new case quickly followed concerning the theft of funds from Zakharyan. It dragged on for a long time. In August, a new verdict brought yet another stroke of luck: Mikhalevsky was sentenced to four years, but was immediately released from serving the punishment because the statute of limitations had expired.
